Detailed description of project
The ANNETTE project aims to validate the SPIRIT platform by integrating and demonstrating advanced telepresence applications in tourism and culture. Specifically, DOTSOFT will adapt its Knossos Palace – Crete AR mobile app, offering photorealistic virtual tours of cultural heritage sites through 3D reconstruction and real-time avatars. WINGS ICT Solutions will contribute with the wi.LIVE Culture platform, enabling 3D digitization of museums, VR navigation, QR content retrieval, and synchronized multiplayer experiences.
The project will leverage 5G connectivity and edge-cloud computing within the SPIRIT testbeds to ensure scalability, performance, and low-latency immersive experiences. Testing will validate SPIRIT capabilities in handling photorealistic avatars, real-time rendering, and distributed processing, contributing insights to enhance telepresence technologies.
