eEnviper | Draxis

eEnviPer is a comprehensive online platform for the application, management and consultation of environmental permits. Through eEnviPer, the environmental permitting process becomes more transparent, accessible and efficient.

The eEnviPer platform was developed and used at a pilot level in 2012-2014. The platform was used by five pilot communities, supported by the European Commission’s ICT Policy Support Programme.

The project highlighted the advantages of SOA and cloud computing by completing overlapping existing systems that support environmental processes and licensing, providing digital services at various levels (central, regional, local) but also to many categories of users: environmental services, consulting firms, environmental engineers, citizens.

The supported systems include: (i) Geographic Information Systems to Support Decision Making by Government Agencies (ii) Workflow Systems that enable the issuance and monitoring of environmental permits by offering digital services to citizens and businesses, (iii) Participatory Web 2.0 platforms that enable public consultation on environmental issues, and (iv) Knowledge management systems (KMS) that will enable public consultation on environmental issues. support engineers during Environmental Inspection or Assessment procedures.
