The aim of this project was to develop an IT platform that will exploit and extract data from various sources such as high-resolution satellite photos, meteorological models and forecasts, field data from sensor networks and information on agricultural production in order to accurately calculate the necessary amount of water and the optimal choice of watering time.
The ENORASIS System has developed and integrated a package of advanced technologies, methodologies and models in the fields of:
- weather forecasting, through satellite observations and advanced models,
- irrigation optimization techniques, c) smart irrigation systems, so that a solution can be easily implemented by farmers and which will be flexible and resilient to be used by irrigation management organizations and d) wireless sensor networks for field measurements.
The main users of ENORASIS are farmers and water management companies.
DOTSOFT supported DRAXIS in all project specification and development actions.
The ENORASIS project has received funding from the 7th Framework Programme of the EU.
